The Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel
The Cosmelan Peel is a professional depigmenting treatment. It’s designed to eliminate or significantly reduce the visibility of hyperpigmentation. The Cosmelan Peel helps to significantly reduce the blemishes caused by increased melanin production, by gently fading the pigment and suppressing further pigment from resurfacing. Cosmelan Peel: What to Expect
Before Your Initial Treatment
The most important thing to keep in mind before your first Cosmelan treatment is that it is imperative to avoid any kind of salon treatments for at least one week prior to your first appointment. In addition, utmost care must be taken to protect your skin from sun exposure in the week leading up to your appointment. While sun exposure must also be limited immediately following your treatment, it is equally important to be sun smart prior to the Cosmelan treatment beginning.
Your First Cosmelan Treatment
Your first experience with Cosmelan facial peels will occur at your choice of one of our professional BHRC medical spas. Your skin type will be thoroughly evaluated before your skin is cleansed to remove oil and dead skin cells.
Then comes the exciting part: when the Cosmelan 1 mask is applied, which will be left on for 6 to 10 hours, depending on your skin type. But don’t worry: no matter how luxurious our medical spa centers are, we don’t expect you to wait around for the entire 6 to 10 hours. You’re free to go home, provided you exercise extreme caution to avoid sun exposure while wearing the mask.
After the required amount of time has passed, the Cosmelan 1 mask can be washed off with water.
Continuing Your Treatment with the Cosmelan 2 Maintenance Cream
In this stage, the Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream is applied two or three times per day for two weeks following the initial mask. After this period, the maintenance cream can be applied daily on an ongoing basis for optimal results.
How soon will you see results?
In most cases, we have achieved great results using Cosmelan within the first week after starting treatment, during which time skin blemishes start to disappear. The biggest influence on results is the color of your skin – the darker the skin, the longer it takes for the spots to disappear. But regardless of your skin tone, your skin will regain its youthful, shiny, and healthy appearance in about 2 to 3 weeks.
