What is ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is a non-invasive, non-hormonal treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue, with little to no discomfort and no downtime.
ThermiVa treatments use temperature as a clinical endpoint.“When heated, collagen fibrils will denature and contract, which is believed to lead to the observed tissue tightening.”
Because the ThermiVa device has temperature control capability, the therapeutic endpoint for each patient is completely customizable.

How does ThermiVa work?

Sometimes a woman can experience vaginal dryness, trouble reaching orgasm, and occasional leaking and loosening of the vaginal tissues after giving childbirth. Thermiva can help to improve these issues. Thermiva is a safe, non-surgical, and painless treatment with no downtime. Thermiva works by delivering radiofrequency energy to apply heat at controlled temperatures, to the internal and external vaginal tissues. Heating of the skin at controlled temperatures promotes immediate contraction of collagen, immediate collagen remodeling and elasticity, and long-term stimulation of new collagen production. These collagen effects, tightens the vaginal tissues, which helps with looseness and leaking. It also helps to increase blood flow, which restores nerve signaling, resulting in normal vaginal lubrication as well as sensitivity.

How many treatments would I need and how long do results last?

Typically, it is recommended to do three treatments, spaced four weeks apart. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to stop the aging process on any parts of the body so we all will of course, continue to age over time and go through hormonal changes. Therefore, there will always be additional treatments needed with any procedure in order to maintain results. Both genetic and lifestyle factors can affect the aging of the vaginal tissues. On average, the expectation is that women will need one treatment per year as maintenance, after the initial three treatments.
